Invoicing for DJs

Weddings, clubs, and private parties all price differently — list your package, any extra hours, and add-ons like lighting or extra speakers as separate lines. Take a deposit to lock the date, send a quote while you are negotiating, and download a clean PDF.

Typical DJ line items

Frequently asked questions

How do I invoice for extra hours beyond the booked package?

List your base package on one line (for example "4-hour event package") and add a separate line for additional hours with the quantity and your overtime rate. Keeping them apart makes it obvious what the standard booking covered.

How do I take a deposit to lock in the date?

Enter the deposit amount in the deposit field and the balance due recalculates automatically. Most DJs invoice a non-refundable deposit to hold the date, then collect the remainder before or on the event day.

Should add-ons like lighting or an MC go on the same invoice?

Yes — add each extra (uplighting, extra speakers, MC services, fog machine) as its own line so the client can see what each upgrade costs. It also makes it easy to remove an add-on if they want to trim the budget.
