From weddings to product shoots, a clear contract protects the booking and your images. This template covers the coverage and deliverables, the fee and deposit, image licensing and usage rights, and what happens if a date is cancelled or rescheduled. The template lets you state that the booking deposit is non-refundable and secures the date, with rules for rescheduling. If the client cancels, the deposit covers the date you turned away other work. Spell out any balance-due deadlines so payment timing is never in question.
You retain copyright in the images, and the contract grants the client a defined usage licence, such as personal or print use. Commercial or resale rights are licensed separately. This keeps you in control of how your photos are used while giving the client the rights they need.
